AfrAsia Bank recognised as a pioneer in the Digital HR Space by Oracle

In recognition of AfrAsia Bank’s successful deployment and implementation of its Human Capital Management system (HCM) on cloud, Oracle has proudly bestowed two prestigious accolades to the Banking Institution:  the Oracle HCM Cloud Rubies Awards 2019 under the category “Keep it in the Family” and the Cloud for Millennials Award.

A global peer-driven programme, this recognition acknowledges HR entrepreneurs who have made significant contributions in their company, investing in technology to improve talent identification and retention, career development and succession planning using Oracle HCM. AfrAsia Bank is proudly the first SADC/African client of Oracle to have successfully pioneered HCM on cloud in the Mauritian Banking sector.

Oracle HCM Cloud is transforming the way the employees of AfrAsia Bank engage with the HR function, taking AfrAsia Bank closer to its goal of becoming an employer of choice. Built on next-generation technology platform, Oracle HCM Cloud repositions the HR Team to be more strategically focus, helping the Bank to address the perennial issues encountered by most HR in hiring, training and managing employee information. Speaking at the Oracle HCM Cloud Rubies Award in Las Vegas, Nevada, Gretchen Alarcon, Group Vice President at Oracle says that “Much of today’s workforce is digitally-native and expects a personalised, seamless HR and employee experience.”

Commenting on the award, Maureen Treanor, Head of Human Resources and Change Management at AfrAsia Bank, says “It’s great to see AfrAsia being globally acclaimed as a pioneer in the Digital HR space for its record implementation of 9 HCM modules in just 9 months. We’ve worked as one team across the business to bring together all the necessary resources to make it the success that we witness today. I’m proud of my team, my colleagues & AfrAsia Bank for leading the way in terms of the digital transformation journey we have embarked on.”

Sanjiv Bhasin, CEO AfrAsia Bank, adds: “I believe this is the another milestone which reinforces our commitment to invest in the digital transformation journey to enhance our employee experience. We wish to improve our service standards to meet our customer expectations at all times. This requires us to introduce new technology in our HR systems to be prompt to respond to the changing employee requirements as well.”
