The euro edged higher as markets positioned for Thursday’s ECB meeting.
Fundamental News

EUR/USD

The Euro edged higher around $1.1630 as markets positioned for Thursday’s ECB meeting, with a 25bp hike essentially priced in, while rising brent prices reinforced eurozone inflation concerns.

GBP/USD

The British Pound held steady around $1.350 with renewed UK inflation concerns.

USD/JPY

The Japanese Yen traded sideways at $153.40 as rising oil and Middle East tensions are adding volatility, but the yen is currently benefiting from expected BOJ tightening and repatriation flows.

AUD/USD

The Australian Dollar remained on front foot at $0.7230 as RBA is expected to raise interest rates later this month on the back of stronger-than-expected economic growth and persistent domestic inflation.

USD/CAD

The Canadian Dollar stayed firm at $1.3770, supported by oil climbing toward $100 as Middle East tensions intensified.

USD/ZAR

The South African Rand fell marginally at $15.99 after South Africa’s economy contracted in Q2 for the first time in nearly two years, with weakness linked to the Iran war and poor mining/manufacturing output.

USD/MUR

The Dollar–Rupee fell by 1 cent to 47.54 (selling) this morning.
