Pound holds near 3-month high at $1.3370 as weak dollar counters Brexit unease

EUR/USD
The Shared currency firmed at $1.1927 on thin trade on Friday as investors sought non-dollar assets due to improving risk appetite stemming from good news on COVID-19 vaccines and hopes for a smoother transition to a Biden administration.

 

GBP/USD
The Cable slightly unchanged at $1.3370 on a weak U.S dollar and ahead of EU chief negotiator Michel Barnier is reportedly due to speak with some EU fisheries ministers later in the day to discuss the current state of the trade discussions.

 

USD/JPY
The Japanese Yen rose to 103.80 despite Tokyo CPI slipped below -0.6% forecast earlier today.

 

AUD/USD
The Aussie dollar extended gains to $0.7380 amid recovery in risk sentiment.

 

USD/ZAR
South Africa's rand lost ground to 15.19 against the greenback as focus shifted to bleak economic prospects for Africa’s most industrialized economy.

 

USD/MUR
The dollar-rupee unchanged at 40.35(selling).
