The South African Rand firmed after the South African Reserve Bank Bank left the benchmark interest rate unchanged at 6.75%.
Fundamental News

EUR/USD

The Euro slipped to 1.1925 after the ECB expressed growing concern over its rapid appreciation against the US Dollar.

GBP/USD

The Pound Sterling eased toward 1.3750 as U.S lawmakers move closer to a spending deal to avert a shutdown, while the BoE is expected to keep rates unchanged next week.

USD/JPY

The Japanese Yen eased to 153.85 per USD as speculation over possible intervention lifted the Yen to a four-month high, even though central bank figures show no official action was taken.

AUD/USD

The Australian dollar edged lower, trading near 0.7000 following the release of Australia’s Producer Price Index, which climbed 3.5% year-over-year in the fourth quarter of 2025.

USD/CAD

The Canadian Dollar traded flat at 1.3520 with renewed trade tensions after President Trump threatened steep tariffs on Canadian aircraft.

USD/ZAR

The South African Rand firmed to 15.70 against the greenback, the strongest since 2022, after the South African Reserve Bank Bank left the benchmark interest rate unchanged at 6.75%.

USD/MUR

The Dollar-Rupee edged up by 27cents at 45.85 (selling) this morning.
