EUR/USD

The euro softened to $1.1360, pressured by surging US Treasury bond yields and hawkish signals from the Federal Reserve officials.

GBP/USD

The British Pound traded slightly lower this morning at $1.3234 amid BoE’s Ramsden indicated that there may be grounds for a further increase in the Bank Rate should inflationary pressures continue to intensify.

USD/JPY

The Japanese Yen gained few pips at $157.45 as Japan’s currency diplomat again warned that authorities are closely watching yen weakness and could act if needed.

AUD/USD

The Aussie Dollar did little change at $0.7019 despite the decision of the Reserve Bank of Australia to raise its benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points to 4.60% as expected this morning.

USD/CAD

The Canadian Dollar remained weak at $1.4190, pressured by dovish BoC outlook. Markets are now watching Canada’s GDP data for clues on the BoC’s next move.

USD/ZAR

The South African Rand dipped to $16.44 as renewed US–Iran tensions and higher oil prices hurt the risk-sensitive rand.

USD/MUR

The Dollar–Rupee climbed to 48.32 (selling) this morning.
