The South African Rand held steady ahead of the SARB Interest rate decision due this afternoon.
Fundamental News

EUR/USD

The Euro extended its gains to 1.1720 as the U.S Dollar weakened on President Trump’s tariff threats against Europe and remarks about Greenland.

GBP/USD

The Pound Sterling stays put after UK employment grew by 82K, with focus turning to UK inflation data later today.

USD/JPY

The Japanese Yen fell to 158.20 versus the greenback ahead of expectations that the Bank of Japan will leave policy settings unchanged on Friday.

AUD/USD

The Australian Dollar trades flat near 0.6740 against the greenback despite Australia’s Westpac Leading Economic Index rising 0.1% MoM in December.

USD/CAD

The Canadian Dollar weakened modestly to 1.3835 ahead of expectations that the Bank of Canada will leave interest rates unchanged at its next meeting on the 28th January. 

USD/ZAR

The South African Rand held steady around 16.38 against the greenback ahead of the SARB Interest rate decision due this afternoon.

USD/MUR

The Dollar-Rupee edged 18 cents lower to 46.43 (selling) this morning.
