EUR/USD

The Euro nosedived to $1.1555 as Middle East tensions boost demand for the safe-haven Dollar and fears that higher energy prices could weaken Europe’s economy.

GBP/USD

The Pound Sterling dipped to 1.3325 against the greenback amid rising UK inflation concerns from higher energy prices, making Bank of England rate cuts less certain.

USD/JPY

The Japanese Yen was weighed down on expectations that the energy shock may lead the Bank of Japan to delay rate hikes, weakening the Japanese Yen to 158.38 versus the U.S dollar.

AUD/USD

The Australian dollar fell to $0.7013, weighed down by higher oil prices due to the Iran conflict.

USD/CAD

The Canadian Dollar climbed to $1.3558 strongly due to surging oil prices, given that Canada is the largest exporter of oil to the US.

USD/ZAR

The South African Rand slipped to 16.8036 against the U.S dollar with higher oil prices widening South Africa’s import bill and inflation risks, putting pressure on the rand.

USD/MUR

The Dollar-Rupee surged 46 cents to 48.29 (Selling) this morning.
