Fundamental News

EUR/USD

The Single currency edged higher to near $1.1550 supported by cooling tensions in the Middle East and weaker-than-expected US economic data.

GBP/USD

The British Pound held steady above $1.3450 as US-Iran peace deal hopes and receding Fed hike bets undermined the US Dollar.

USD/JPY

The Japanese Yen lost ground to $157.75 as Japan’s fiscal concerns overshadowed the recent US-Japan joint intervention.

AUD/USD

The Australian Dollar remained firm at $0.7040 after data released showed Australia unexpectedly recorded a AUD 1.93 billion trade surplus in June, driven by a strong rise in exports.

USD/CAD

The Canadian Dollar strengthened to $1.4015 as crude oil prices recovered slightly from an over three-week low.

USD/ZAR

The South African Rand gathered some momentum at $16.3415 following the release of the S&P Global South Africa PMI on the last trading session which showed the country's private sector expanded for a second consecutive month in July, while higher gold and platinum prices further boosted the currency.

USD/MUR

The Dollar–Rupee dropped to 47.64 (selling) this morning.
