The Australian dollar advanced after Q4 GDP beat forecasts, but gains were limited as January’s trade surplus fell below expectations.
Fundamental News

EUR/USD

The Euro yoyoed within familiar territory at 1.1593 vis-à-vis the U.S dollar with the Middle East tensions drove investors to safe-haven assets, while the market await Eurozone Retail Sales and US weekly Jobless Claims due today. 

GBP/USD

The Pound Sterling stayed put at 1.3312 versus the greenback amid UK stagflation fears driven by surging energy prices.

USD/JPY

The Japanese Yen progressed slightly to $157.24 as market sought the safe-haven currency amid rising Middle East tensions.

AUD/USD

The Australian dollar advanced to $0.7041 after Q4 GDP beat forecasts, but gains were limited as January’s trade surplus fell below expectations.

USD/CAD

The Canadian Dollar gained to $1.3668 as higher oil prices, driven by fears of supply disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, supported the currency.

USD/ZAR

The South African Rand did little change trading at 16.4652 against the U.S dollar in response to the US-Israel conflict with Iran that intensified over the past weekend.

USD/MUR

The Dollar-Rupee is unchanged at 47.83 (selling) this morning.
