Fundamental News

EUR/USD

The Euro retraced to 1.1579 against the U.S dollar driven by persistent Federal Reserve hawkishness and worsening geopolitical tensions across the Middle East.

GBP/USD

The British Pound descended to $1.3498 with Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey said inflation risks remain contained, as the UK has not yet seen meaningful second-round inflation effects.

USD/JPY

The Japanese Yen extends its relative weakness at $160.08 amid mounting fiscal worries, driven by higher bond yields that increase Japan’s debt-servicing costs. 

AUD/USD

The Australian Dollar nosedived to $0.7138 with Australia’s upbeat second-quarter GDP release offered only temporary support, as market optimism faded quickly.

USD/CAD

The Canadian Dollar slipped to 1.3920 versus the greenback ahead of the Bank of Canada interest rate decision due later today where it is expected to hold its overnight rate at 2.25%.

USD/ZAR

The South African Rand came under pressure at $16.1911 as August PMI data showed deteriorating manufacturing confidence amid a significant slump in business activity.

USD/MUR

The Dollar–Rupee gained 13 cents to 47.92 (selling) this morning.
