Fundamental News

EUR/USD
The Shared currency climbed to $1.1860 as the hopes for coronavirus vaccine, and the prospects of the global economy returning to normalcy in 2021 continue to weigh over the safe-haven dollar.

 

GBP/USD
The pound sterling firmed at $1.3215 amid focus is on Brexit negotiations that resumed in Brussels.

 

USD/JPY
The Japanese yen slightly gained to 104.50 versus the U.S dollar on optimism over the latest positive news on the COVID-19 vaccine front.

 

AUD/USD
The Aussie dollar ascended towards $0.7317 as RBA minutes reiterated "no to negative rates", showing readiness for further stimulus.

 

USD/ZAR
South Africa's rand firmed at 15.32 against the U.S dollar on the back of optimism from several vaccine trials with success rates of more than 90%.

 

USD/MUR
The dollar-rupee idled at 40.30(selling).
