Fundamental News

EUR/USD
The euro recovered from $1.2058 to $1.2095, driven by hopes that the EU leaders will approve the stimulus deal at the Summit, which will pave the way for the flow of $2.2 trillion to the continent’s battered economies. ECB interest rate decision eyed for 17:30.

 

GBP/USD
The pound plummeted from $1.3472 to $1.3363 as chances dim for post-Brexit trade deal after "lively" dinner.

 

USD/JPY
The Japanese Yen tumbled to 104.41 against the greenback despite increasing political uncertainties over U.S. stimulus talks.

 

AUD/USD
The Aussie dollar soared to $0.7474 following Consumer Inflation Expectations reprint 3.5% for December.

 

USD/ZAR
The South African rand climbed to 14.95 against the greenback, supported by an uptick in global risk appetite that has largely outweighed investors' worries about South Africa's dire economic situation.

 

USD/MUR
The dollar-rupee stayed put at 40(selling) on the local market.
