Fundamental News

EUR/USD

The Euro traded cautiously around $1.1440 as escalating US-Iran tensions boosted safe-haven demand for the US Dollar.

GBP/USD

The Pound Sterling remained weak at $1.3465, pressured by expectations that the Bank of England could continue easing policy if UK economic data remains soft.

USD/JPY

The Japanese Yen remained under pressure near $162.33 as geopolitical risks supported demand for safer assets, while intervention warnings from Japanese authorities limited further yen declines.

AUD/USD

The Aussie dollar weakened to $0.6990 as weaker risk sentiment and concerns over China's economic outlook added pressure on the currency.

USD/CAD

The Canadian Dollar strengthened towards 1.4005, supported by rising oil prices amid escalating Middle East tensions, while traders await Canada's CPI data later today and continue to reassess expectations for a US interest rate hike at the Fed's 28–29 July meeting.

USD/ZAR

The South African rand lost some momentum, trading at $16.51, as rising oil prices and renewed inflation concerns pressured the currency, while markets focused on the upcoming SARB rate decision due this week for fresh direction.

USD/MUR

The Dollar–Rupee dropped by 2cents to 47.84 (selling) this morning.
