Fundamental News

EUR/USD
The Shared currency picked up from a low of $1.1850 to $1.1870 on optimism over a potential early rollout of COVID-19 vaccines offset by global economic restrictions to curb the spread of the virus.

 

GBP/USD
The Cable extended gains to $1.3316 driven by renewed hopes that Britain and the European Union will reach a trade deal.

 

USD/JPY
The Safe-haven yen barely changed at 103.73 against the U.S dollar on a closed Japanese market.

 

AUD/USD
The Aussie pair cheered up to $0.7312 on U.S. dollar weakness coupled with improvement in the coronavirus conditions at home.

 

USD/ZAR

 South African rand firmed at 15.37 versus the greenback despite credit rating agencies Fitch and Moody's lowered South Africa's sovereign ratings further into junk on Friday.

 

USD/MUR
The dollar-rupee idled at 40.20(selling).
