AfrAsia Bank’s CEO, Thierry Vallet, honoured with the Global Marketer of the Year Award by the Academy of Marketing Science (AMS)

AfrAsia Bank is pleased to announce that Thierry Vallet, our Chief Executive Officer and Founder Executive, has been recognised as the Global Marketer of the Year 2024 by the world-renowned Academy of Marketing Science (AMS), making him the first Mauritian to win a global marketing award.  The jury has acknowledged his exceptional leadership and strategic vision in driving the AfrAsia Bank's brand on the global stage and achieving notable business growth.


Commenting on this achievement, Thierry Vallet stated: “I am profoundly humbled to receive this highly-coveted Global Marketer of the Year award. Banking is one of the most mature and established industries globally, so winning this award is marker of progress, emphasizing both the effectiveness of our strategy and our successful positioning across the various markets we serve. Earlier this month, our CEO was nominated among 6 candidates for the AMS Global Marketer of the Year Award 2024. This award celebrates outstanding achievements in global market development and marketing excellence.


With Thierry at the helm of the Bank, our global footprint spans across more than 160 countries, showcasing our impactful marketing and business development strategies across the world. Notably, our flagship sponsorship of the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open positioned our brand to viewers worldwide. The AMS recognises that, under Thierry's leadership, this golf sponsorship translated into international and positive spillover effects on key industries such as finance, tourism and professional sports as well as on individuals and communities.
