AfrAsia Bank has been crowned “Best Private Bank 2026 – Mauritius” at The Banker’s Global Private Banking Awards, held in London on Thursday, 5 November 2026. Presented by The Banker, a specialist banking publication of the Financial Times, this international distinction recognises the Bank’s private banking expertise, full-fledge wealth management offering and commitment to delivering high-quality client service.

The Bank was represented at the awards ceremony by Vishal Joyram, Chief Executive Officer; Jennifer Jean-Louis, Chief Financial Officer; and Valérie Lincoln, Head of Private Banking – International.

“This recognition is a proud moment for AfrAsia Bank and a strong endorsement of the private banking and wealth management expertise we have built over the years. It reflects the trust our clients place in us and the dedication of our teams, whose commitment and professionalism continue to drive our success. More importantly, it reinforces our determination to keep raising the bar, strengthening our capabilities and delivering lasting value to our clients,” said Vishal Joyram.

A distinctive approach to private banking

AfrAsia Bank has developed a private banking model centred on personalised service, wealth management, investment expertise and tailored financial solutions. Through dedicated relationship management, the Bank places particular emphasis on bespoke financial solutions, accessibility, responsiveness and continuity, enabling it to understand the financial objectives of high-net-worth individuals and families to respond to their evolving needs. Its open-architecture investment platform provides access to a broad range of investment opportunities, supported by daily portfolio monitoring and a disciplined investment approach. These capabilities allow us to guide our client base to navigate changing market conditions and make informed decisions about growing their wealth over the long term.

Complementing its investment offering, AfrAsia Bank provides financing solutions including Lombard lending, real estate financing and tailored credit arrangements, alongside cross-border structuring expertise. Together, these services allow the Bank to address complex financial requirements and support clients across different stages of their wealth journey.

Connecting expertise with international opportunities

Serving clients in more than 160 countries, with a representative office in Johannesburg and a branch office in Dubai, AfrAsia Bank draws on its Mauritius-based expertise and international presence to facilitate cross-border banking opportunities. Being a subsidiary of The Access Bank UK Limited further extends AfrAsia Bank’s international network, providing access to additional expertise and strengthening its ability to assist and support clients across markets.

Alongside its international development, AfrAsia Bank continues to invest in digital innovation such as a modern internet banking platform and soon a mobile banking application, operational excellence and talent development to enhance its services and respond to changing client expectations.

“Private banking is fundamentally about understanding our clients, their ambitions and the financial priorities that shape their decisions. Our strength lies in combining this personal understanding with the expertise, investment capabilities and international reach needed to support them at every stage of their wealth journey. This award is a meaningful recognition of our team's dedication and motivates us to continue enhancing the experience and value we deliver to our clients,” added Valérie Lincoln.

This latest distinction marks an important milestone in AfrAsia Bank’s private banking journey, reflecting the strength of its expertise and the progress achieved over the years. Beyond the recognition itself, it provides renewed momentum for the Bank to build on its achievements, further strengthen its offering and continue setting high standards in private banking and wealth management.
