Tribeca Central Smart City welcomes a new landmark in the Trianon skyline – the AfrAsia Tower

Hermes Properties Ltd announces a major letting to AfrAsia Bank in its next key development within the Tribeca Central Smart City - a forthcoming premier business, retail, commercial and residential smart city at Trianon. The ‘AfrAsia Tower’, which underscores the long-term growth strategy of the Bank, is master planned and designed by Gensler - a world-renowned global architecture, design, planning and consulting firm.

This impressive 15-storey tower will offer outstanding space and facilities featuring innovative future workplace concepts to promote greater operational efficiency and an enhanced customer service given its strategic location and technologically-advanced amenities. Whilst the Bank will maintain a strategic presence in Port Louis, its 400 employees pool will relocate from Ebene to the AfrAsia Tower by Quarter 3 of 2022.

Cyril How Kin Sang, Chief Executive Officer of Hermes Properties Ltd, expresses his contentment over this collaboration with AfrAsia Bank: “We are delighted that AfrAsia Bank has chosen Tribeca Central to set up its offices in the new AfrAsia Tower. This move is testament to the premium quality of the proposed building, its amenities and the interconnected environment that AfrAsia Bank employees will enjoy in their new surroundings. We are looking forward to welcoming AfrAsia Bank to Tribeca Central, which will be a vibrant destination for people to work, shop, entertain and stay.”

Commenting on the Bank’s relocation to Tribeca Central Smart City, Thierry Vallet, Interim Chief Executive Officer of AfrAsia Bank, states: “This world-class building is a key milestone to the growth AfrAsia has witnessed since 2007, which, in multiple ways, mirrors that of Mauritius as a booming financial capital of Africa and the region.  Our business and operations are growing and so is our workforce. Our objective was to find a premium location with innovative facilities to regroup our workforce under one roof and promote further collaboration. This will in turn help to optimise our relationship-based approach, our efficiency and further enhance our ability to offer the best customer experience by striking the ideal balance between technology and human interaction.”

The new premises underpin both the enhanced proximity to the Bank’s clients as well as being part of an integral ecosystem which will be the Tribeca Central Smart City.  Nicolas Hardy, Chief Technology and Operations Officer of AfrAsia Bank, highlights: “We are firm believers in investing in communities wherein we operate in a sustainable and efficient way. To accelerate the kind of growth we foresee for the Bank locally and internationally in the coming years, it is mandatory to invest in driving technological and operational efficiency.  Through the latest connectivity and technologically-oriented facilities, the AfrAsia Tower will promote cost effectiveness by leveraging on an enhanced efficiency of our internal and external processes. Drawing on our innovative mindset and expert talent pool, we embarked on this expansion to shape a cohesive customer-centric organisation anchored on sustainable practices.”

The AfrAsia Tower is currently under development within Tribeca Central and upon completion, will be an environmentally-advanced, energy-efficient and sustainable workplace in Mauritius, with a LEED certification based on international sustainability standards. The building testifies to the Bank’s commitment to prepare for the next milestone on its journey of continual transformation whilst improving the standards of a modern and sustainable banking industry.
