It has come to the knowledge of the Bank of Mauritius (‘Bank’) that there are posts in circulation on social media platforms inviting members of the public to place money with individuals for alleged high returns.

The Bank wishes to remind members of the public that only financial institutions licenced by the Bank can accept deposits from individuals and entities. These scams have been referred to the relevant Authorities for investigation.

The Bank advises members of the public to exercise caution and ensure that their money is placed with regulated entities and persons. A list of financial institutions duly licensed by the Bank is available on its website https://www.bom.mu/financial-stability/supervision/licensees/list-of-licensees.
