EUR/USD

The Euro climbed above $1.1600 after German CPI rose to 2.9% YoY in August, making a September rate increase by the European Central Bank all but certain.

GBP/USD

The British Pound held steady at $1.3540 amid ongoing Middle East tensions and Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh's hawkish remarks at the Jackson Hole symposium.

USD/JPY

The Japanese Yen slipped to $159.90 as Japan’s 10-Year bond yield hit 3% for the first time in three decades after US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent signaled that the US wants the Bank of Japan to raise interest rates more aggressively.

AUD/USD

The Australian Dollar remained strong at $0.7170 following the release of China’s RatingDog Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index, which climbed to 51.5 in August from 50.9 in July.

USD/CAD

The Canadian Dollar edged higher to $1.3865 as rising crude oil prices continue to provide support to the Loonie.
