Our Board of Directors comprises of high calibre multi-disciplined professionals with vast experience in the financial sector. 

 
Alain Rey
Alain Rey qualified in 1985 as a Chartered Accountant and started his career in London with Coopers & Lybrand. From 1986 to 1988, he worked with Citibank in Paris as Program Manager in the Country Head Office. He was involved in the supervision of branches covering France, Luxemburg and Monacco mainly in Audit, Fraud investigations and Assessment of Portfolio Quality. Alain has also been involved with major textiles companies in Mauritius. He has been the Financial Director of Corotex and the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Novel Denim Holding Ltd.

He has also been the Regional Corporate Director of Barclays Bank plc (Mauritius Branch) with responsibility over the local Corporate Division, Leasing Division and the International Banking Division. He was then a member of the Bank’s Executive Committee and the ALCO.

Alain is now the IRS project Director of Compagnie Sucriere de Mon Choisy.

Arnaud Lagesse
Arnaud Lagesse is the Chief Executive Officer of GML and is responsible for the implementation of the Group’s Strategy and Development. He is a member of the Board of Directors of several of the country’s major companies. He has served as President of the Mauritius Chamber of Agriculture and the Mauritius Sugar Producers Association. He was appointed by the Ministry of Finance to sit on the National Committee for Corporate Governance. Arnaud is a graduate from the Institut Superieur de Gestion, Paris and has completed an Executive Education Program at INSEAD, Fontainebleau, Paris.

Cyril Lagesse
Cyril Lagesse took over the leadership of the GML Group in 1969. He then set up CIDL in the early 1970’s and subsequently Desmem and made GML as one of the most successful and diversified groups of the Mauritian Economy. He represents the group on the Board of Directors of several prestigious companies of the country, many of which are listed on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius. He is a former Chairman and director of the Mauritius Commercial Bank.

Jean Claude Bega

Jean Claude Béga is a Chartered Certified Accountant. He is the Financial Executive of Group Mon Loisir and participates actively in all development projects.

Jean de Fondaumiere
Jean de Fondaumiere qualified in the United Kingdom in 1980 as a Chartered Accountant. He served in managerial positions at Price Waterhouse, Kleinwort Benson and Security Pacific in Sydney, Australia from 1981 to 1991 in the fields of audit and merchant banking.

He joined the Swan Group (biggest insurance group in Mauritius) in 1992 and was appointed as its Group Chief Executive in 1997.

Jean has been the Chairman of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius from 2002 to 2006.

Justin Chinyanta
Justin Chinyanta, a Zambian Citizen, acts as the Executive Chairman of Loita Capital Partners International, sitting in Johannesburg, South Africa.  He is a Barrister at Law and has over 20 years professional experience in commercial and investment banking within the African continent, specializing in the eastern and southern regions of Africa. Prior to forming Loita Holdings Corporation, he held senior positions with Citibank and HSBC Equator Bank in Africa.

Maurice Lam Pak Ng
Maurice Lam Pak Ng is the founding partner of Stewardship Consulting, a strategy consulting firm working with senior executives in South East Asia in the area of corporate strategy, corporate and industry restructuring, financial strategy, corporate finance and risk management. Maurice is the current chairman of the Board of Investment, Mauritius.

During his career, Maurice has accumulated 18 years experience in investment banking in the areas of money management, treasury, risk management and financial strategy. He has worked in Singapore, London and New York advising multinationals, government agencies and fund managers.

Maurice holds an MBA from the Columbia Business School, New York, USA.

Sanjiv Bhasin
Sanjiv Bhasin is the Chief Executive Director and Managing Director of Rabo India Finance, the Indian subsidiary of Rabobank Nederland since 2004. Before that, he was the Chief Operating Officer of HSBC India.

Sanjiv has been working with the HSBC group since 1979 in various capacities mainly in Corporate and Investment Banking as well as in Risk Management. Within that period, he served as Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Mauritius from 1999 to 2002.

Sanjiv holds an MBA in Finance from XLRI Jamshedpur, India and a B.Com (Hins) degree from Sriram College of Commerce, New Delhi.

Thierry Lagesse is the non-executive Chairman of Group Mon Loisir and the founder and Executive Chairman of the Palmar Group of companies. He sits as representative of GML on a number of Board of Directors. He is a member of the Mauritius Chamber of Agriculture and has been Chairman of the Mauritius Export Processing Zone Association. He holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from University of Paris Dauphine.
